It is too bad that this site has not been updated as it could provide a very valuable resource. Being a seasonal visitor to the Island that depends on internet access at a reasonable speed (ie: no dial up:o) to be able to 'work from the cottage' and stay with my family I lived at the Atlantic Technology Center this past summer to access thier WIFI feed. While it worked out well a change of pace from time to time would have been nice. Also, I do not see the ATC even listed on this site. Any suggestions on how to breath some life into this site?

I want to say that I'm pleased to see that there are others who believe as I do that the internet should be free to the end user, I say let the ones who make the money pay for it.
I am working on a system that will do just this, and can be built up from small pockets to cover entire cities. The great thing is it will be self sustaining even create revenue.
With present boom in WIFI technology the possibilities are endless.
Once again, my hats off to you.
Keep going, the internet should be free to the end user.

I heard twork that there will be a charlottetown wide WiFI access point going up. It will be pay per month though. The people puting it on is Surf city Internet Cafe on university Ave at the old goerges grill. From what i hear from them that this will be a fairly good connection speed if you are in range. I think they said that they will be running 802.11G. so the range and strength will be good.

I see in the Buzz (buzzon.com) that there is wireless internet at 42nd Street Lounge, 125 Sydney St.

Engineering Technologies Canada (http://www.engtech.ca) seems to have open Wi-Fi in the Stratford industrial park (16 Myrtle St.). I'm not sure if they welcome visitors on it, but I've heard reports that it works quite well for those who may be looking for an access point accessible from their cars.
