A Prime Example: WiFi at Timothy’s Coffee Shop

WiFi is better experienced than explained. Timothy’s coffee shop on Kent Street in Charlottetown is bathed in an open wireless access signal. Come by, enjoy the fine coffee and sandwiches, and browse the web and check your email. We’re sitting there right now.

I am sitting at Timothy's right now, enjoying a bagel and coffee, using the wifi to work remotely on a current project.

It really is a great way to spend a morning.

Now just to get a few more places in town with access points. Not a ditch against Timothy's in the least, its a great spot - but a choice is always nice.

Timothy's was a great discovery for me this summer away from my home university, but I did lose the ability to connect early in August. Kept coming up "no server available'. Up until this time I had great reception. Anyone know what happened?

Hi Connie,
The access point across the street seems to have been locked down (MAC addresses filtered). We're not sure as to why this has happened. There is talk about Timothy's providing access to their clientelle shortly. I'm not sure if it will be free, for pay, or what, but something will be implemented.
I'm pleased to confirm that the wifi point at Timothy's (well... accesable from Timothy's) is available again. And I have to say, its a great place to get a coffee and do a little work.
I am sitting at Timothy's and my wireless signal is low, in some cases their is none.
nooo!!! because I am enjoying their hot chocolate and their sandwhiches....
Was trying the wifi with my new Powerbook today. No signal at Timothy's. Just thought I would pass the info along.
Is the connection at Timothy's active? I'll be in Charlottetown next week and could use a wiFi connection such as this.
Sadly no - its been dead for a little while, and it won't be back in time for you.

There are some open spots around town though - such as the two listed on this site on Prince St.
